MADJAM 2010
On March 4-7, 2010, I attended, along with my partner Rodney, the 8th MADjam 2010 presented by Dave Moldover's Dance Jam Productions. What is MADjam?  It is the largest Swing Dance weekend in the mid-Atlantic.  It is also DC's West Coast Swing, Hustle and Hand Dance Spectacular.  To me it was exciting and fun to watch Swing, Hustle, and Hand Dance competitions that go on and on and on.  You get that right chair that is so comfortable and you enjoy, enjoy, and enjoy.

The event was held at the Sheraton Premiere at Tyson's Corner in Vienna, Virginia.  I truly love that hotel because the corporate and service staff are very helpful and nice. Besides I love their chicken wings and Caesars' salad.  The bartenders are so warm and friendly.  Then when I go to my room, the bed is so soft and comfortable.  I can't wait for September 3-4, 2010, when Tri-State Connection has their Swing, Line & Youth Dance Explosion with competitions and dance parties held at the same hotel.
Getting back to MADjam, the event itself was just fantastic, affordable, and enjoyable.  I got a hug from some of the West Coast Swing stars like Ken R., Barry D., the "main ingredient" Dave M., and my friend from NOAA--so I was happy.  I was truly impressed with the music--all of it seemed to have a beat.  But what I like the best was two good songs--Spotlight by Jennifer Hudson and I Don't Need It by Jamie Foxx were played more than a few times during the dance time.  I thought that was cool because dancers love to dance to those songs.  I counted at least 50+ individual workshops in the book.  I attended a workshop given by Lawrence "Brad" Bradford called "Hand Dance Defined".  It was a good workshop because we discussed and learned valuable moments of Hand Dance. Now, if I can learn how to get rid of this arthritis, I will be able to dance again.
MADjam was well planned and organized--no long lines for registration or paying competitor fees.  I would love to interview Dave but from what I know of him, he is an exceptional young man and extremely business minded.  He teaches the West Coast Swing and produces events in Maryland and D.C.  He deejays (pictured above at my 2003 competition), has a dance floor business that is always in demand, expert in Websites and computers, has his own production company, is modest, and from what I know very nice.  Personally, he seems like a genius like William "Bill" Gates.
Dave, I congratulate you and your production team, staff, and volunteers for executing such a wonderful event in its art form--dance.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WEST COAST SWING DANCERS!
